I’m a recent graduate considering a Quality Specialist position at a good medical device company. My degree is in medical engineering. I would eventually like to go into R&D or just design in general eventually. However, I’ve heard that people in QA get stuck in QA. I’ve also heard that QA jobs are horrible and that it has a high turnover rate because employees are unhappy doing the job. The way the economy is, I’m inclined to take the job, but don’t want to get myself stuck in a career path that I’ll hate for the rest of my life.
Although, I also think I could fit for the job. I enjoy writing and do it pretty well. I’m good at communicating with people and I would like to travel. I think it could be a path to becoming a Project Manager or perhaps a senior Engineer or something along those lines. Is it possible/unlikely to go from a QA background to a Project management or Design role?
At a crossroads..Help! TIA(Thanks in advance, not This is Africa)
