I will attend a four-year university in the fall. I plan to double-major in International Studies and Business Management, and I also have a great interest in the preservation and conservation of the envrionment. What kinds of positions should I be looking for? Any good companies you can think of? I am a natural leader and I really enjoy training other people.
I know this is early in the game, but I just want ideas of what I would like to do later in life. I really need something that can bring in a nice-size paycheck, too. Any suggestions would be great!
There are lots of non-profit organizations that do that type of work. Just cause a company is non-profit doesn’t mean they don’t have tons of money. They pay big bucks too.
I worked for a company once that might be something you would do in the future. The company I worked for did assessments on the workers and working conditions in all of the foreign countries that US companies had their products manufactured. Say walmart was getting t-shirts made in guatamala. The US goverment says that the plan that makes the shirts must abide by international worker standards (meaning they get paid, get a break, have bathrooms available, not hiring kids, etc.). So this company I worked for would farm out the job of actually going to the factories to sub contract firms in each of the countries, they would do an assessment and send it back here to the US and then the audit would show if Walmart was in compliance or not.
The manager of this company made big big bucks. You can too.
