Anyone lived in the Marina City Towers in Chicago recently and can tell me about there experience there. Management, quality of apartment, did the space work out. I am considering one of the 500sq ft studios. I really like the building and would love to live there because of the balconies on the river.
I have a friend there and he seems pretty content with his place in Marina City which is about as tiny as a closet. My uncle lived in Marina City about 20 years ago and the units looked pretty sweet back then…I don’t believe they’ve been updated in a long time. But you can beat the location and the amenities are pretty sweet as well…the roof, the restaurants, a few shops including a small grocery store, a dry cleaner and the Chicago River.
I’ve always found really fair apartment reviews here (this directly links to Marina City, but you can find any apartment management company here): http://www.apartmentratings.com/rate/IL-… so check that site frequently.
A few years ago that building was going downhill, it was actually in danger of falling into the river it was in such bad condition. I think they’ve improved it and its much nicer now. I know there’s an issue now with a bar that went in downstairs or nextdoor that’s suppposed to be loud.
