We need to stop throwing good money after bad and let the correction happen. I don’t want my tax money going to reward bad management, poor quality, lousy products, etc. How can we get that collective message across to Washington? Pelosi? Bush? Obama? etc.
They won’t listen. Both my senators voted for the first bailout package even though the majority of us kept their phone lines and inboxes flooded with our opposition to it. It doesn’t stop me from trying. I continue to call and email and talk to my friends and neighbors at every turn and encourage them to do the same. One Senator was up for re-election this year and now is having to fight in a runoff to try to keep his seat. If we can’t stop them before they go against us, we can make sure they don’t have the opportunity to do it again.
Don’t have a short-term memory. Download the list of senators and congressmen who voted against your wishes. Get involved in the next campaign for the opposing candidate. If there isn’t one, get your neighbors, local businesses and local politicians involved to find a candidate. Don’t be shy. Back up your words with money and time invested. If you can’t afford to invest much money, get in their campaign office and get on the phone and find people who can. Complacency on our part is the best friend of our representatives who vote for their own best interests and not ours. Good luck.
Because we keep allowing them to bite the hand that feeds them. How does Ted Kennedy keep getting re-elected? Who in their right mind voted for Ted Stevens after getting convicted of 7 felonies? Both parties are equally crooked.
Stop re-electing those who are undeserving.
Although I am against term-limits for most positions because it limits my choice of who to vote for, I think it would be a great if we could apply them to all 3 branches of our Federal Government, including Supreme Court Justices.
JW.C, we need far more Democrats like yourself.
Revolution is probably the only way unfortunately. Those businesses have been in charge of this country since after the civil war. No way a politician would let them go down. Not only do they put money in their pockets, they dont want the political backlash of such a thing.
Here’s why:
Massive unemployment – Bad
Insurance defaults – Bad
Health care gone – Bad
Mortgages shot – Bad
There’s more, but hopefully you get the drift.
These companies the government makes loans to (they ARE loans) are insanely huge. They affect people in ways most people don’t realize.
We can’t get the message through. My party is in control and most of them are retarded or very near it. The people in control are radicals from the far left of the party and there isn’t anything us moderate Democrats can do about it.
Because not enough of us are speaking up. We need to call our congressmen and women and let them know what our feeling is on this.
Keep in mind the UAW is giving a lot of money to the Dems to keep them voting the way they want them to.
The reason bad companies got the bailout is because the politicians on Capitol Hill were all paid good money to listen to their lobbyists.
Unfortunately due to corporate fraud known as “creative financing” that would be pretty much half the corporations in the states. Gotta love Bush.
Can you afford to live on unemployment insurance? I can’t.
