With Vista and online gaming, i lose connectivity for a brief time. In turn i lose client connection. With XP it does not do it. Any advice on settings to stop this from happening. Have herd has something to do with the power management but not sure.
Hi,
Vista is more likely a power saving window and have more advanced power saving features by default . So i think it set the power saving feature on your NIC …So
Windows might be turning off the network adapter to save power.
Turn off the power-saving option in the network adapter’s properties (wired
network adapters only):
1. Open Network Connections by clicking the Start button , clicking
Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, clicking Network and Sharing
Center, and then clicking Manage network connections.
2. Right-click the connection, and then click Properties. If
you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the
password or provide confirmation.
3. On the Networking tab, click Configure.
4. On the Power Management tab, clear the Allow the computer to
turn off this device to save power check box, and then click OK.
Hope this helps!
