My Cpu Usage Is At A Constant 100% When Playing Games. Whenever I Start A Game My Cpu Idle Is At 2-8%…?

I checked to see what other processes are running at the same time and have cut them to the minimum. I’ve also disabled many start up items, and most background services. I have defragmented my system and physically cleaned the inside of my computer.
I have run some diagnostics using isSoftware Sandra Lite and think there might be a problem with power management, but I still can’t figure out why my cpu usage stays at a constant 100% during gameplay.
HP pavilion a1220n
Windows XP SP2
Pentium 4, 2.93GHz
1.2 GB RAM
I think i might just drop kick this thing out the window…..

Hey, that’s great, your PC is running normally in games. It is using the cpu to the maximum so that you will have an exciting game experience. Gamers won’t be content with that and further overclock their cpu and gpu to squeeze out every bit of performance from their rigs.
Less than 100% cpu utilization will only occur if you pair a weak/anemic graphics card with a powerful/fast cpu. The card will just bottleneck the cpu.
In any case, I’ll be ready at your window.
Instead of drop kicking it out of the window, mail it to me. No seriously, thats normal. Games take up alot of cpu usage and theres nothing you can do about it. you have a kickass processor and a good amount of RAM so you should be fine. Don’t worry about it.
its supposed to be 100%. most/if not all games will take up 100% since you’re not doing anything else other then playing the game.
