Now, its Yale, so theres no doubt that its quality. I mean is its graduate program quality when compared to Duke? How about Harvard? UChicago? UC Berkeley? Cornell? Columbia? In fact, could you rank these? I know that rating wise, Yale SOM ranks quite low when compared to the rest of these. Why is it then that the acceptance rate for Yale SOM is lower than most? Is it still easier to get into than UChicago or Harvard, or the rest aforementioned? Thanks.
SOM is a very small class size and lots of people that want to do public sector work still see SOM as a MPPM instead of an MBA…. probably because for a while that was the story SOM was pushing that they didn’t offer a MBA they offered a MPPM… well times changed and the finally realized that MBA had more meaning for recruiters. Unfortunately or fortunately depending on your point of view, Yale still attract a very large number of applicants that think Yale will teach them something special when it comes to their desire to working non-profits and government jobs.
Yale really is a bit of a joke. It is only where it is in surveys because of the Yale name.
Yale SOM does not rank up with any of the other good business schools.
