To me it sounds like you are talking about the violence, the sexual references, drugs etc.. If that is what you are talking about, then I would have to agree that a lot of it goes over the top. To make their money, these game developers will prey on a basic human instinct (wherever it comes from, I don’t know), and that is our fascination with all the ‘bad’ things. Contraversy is what we are all attracted to. We love action. I am not sure if certain societies are more interested in all this action and contraversy than others, I am not sure. Anyway the developers know all this, and they make their $$ from it. I think it’s pretty irresponsible myself, but people will always be attracted to all this kind of stuff. How do I think you could overcome it? The trend is to glorify certain activities such as; drug dealing, murder, robbery, prostitution, violence etc. When you glorify it, people admire it and often aspire to be just like it. I would suggest before doing anything else, to glorify being AGAINST all this stuff, in a contraversial way of course. This way the human desire will still be satisfied. That would be the first step. Then maybe SOMEHOW glorify being against unreasonable behaviour entirely, regardless if its in objection of drug dealing, murder, robbery, prostitution, violence etc. There isn’t anything wrong with peace and compromise, but unfortunately, some people find them…..too boring!
I believe you meant cyber cafes. Computer shops sells and repairs computers – doesn’t seem to have anything to do with managing computer games.
Anyway,
as a parent, it’s our parental responsibility to ensure that we educate our children properly about the concepts of ethics, morality, violence, sex, etc. It’s NOT our duty to shove our responsibility to our children into someone else face and then blame them for our failures.
If at home, we as the parents miserably fail to uphold the ethics and morality of our own behaviour – you actually expect the young ones to understand? We are adults, behave maturely like one. Throwing tanthrum blaming others for our failure of responsibility as parents won’t work.
Fear our children are being exposed to violence and actually follow it blindly? Then we can only blame ourselves as parents for zealously working like dogs, neglecting the love and care our children need and not talking heart to heart with our children about all the negativity we fear our children will pick up.
