For problem solving TQM has a technique called SQC, whcih is Statistical Quality Control. There are 9 different tools in SQC which can be helpfull is solving any type of problem.
First we have to identify the problem and its causes and draw a Cause Effect diagram indicating the possble causes of the problem. This can be done by brain storning.
After that we have to monitor each casue of the problem by accumulating data and maintaining various charts like p chart hitogram etc. And later we can concentrate on a single important cause and try to correct the casuse and implement it and monitor it later.
